Last week Mrs. Jones and her nutrition class were able to host their first luncheon for staff. The idea was gathered around the basil we grew from seed. The class grew, harvested, and gathered extra basil from the Sistersville Community Garden, and the WVU extension high tunnel. With this we were able to offer a variety of chicken sandwiches with the staple being the chicken caprese. We were able to serve over 40 people! Mrs. Yost's business class was a great asset to us and it made everything run very smooth! Thank you Jill Ash and Julie Bolin for the extra basil and the staff that ordered to make this event successful for our class. #KnightsPride

This past Friday, 11th grade students in Mrs. Grimes's classroom were asked to tell a peer, up close and personal, about someone that has had a positive impact on their life and why. Several brave students then shared with the whole class who those individuals were and the impact they have made. There was so much power in those moments as students shared about how their parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, and significant others have had such a positive impact on their lives. This past Monday, TCHS Seniors Lily Thompson and Dane Nelson were recognized at the Tyler County Board of Education meeting for being honorary Secretaries of State during our voter registration drive at TCHS. With their help we secured 100% of voting eligible seniors to register to vote! Thank you Lily and Dane! TCHS will once again be recognized with the coveted Jennings Randolph Award! (Dane was attending a school trip and was unable to attend the board meeting.) #KnightsPride
